Who qualifies as a
Super IC?
We want to curate a community of the top IC talent in the world. In order to do that we have some criteria.
1
You’re a Product Designer, Content Designer or UX Researcher. We are inclusive of all “Design” functions.
2
You’re an Individual Contributor (IC). If you are in management but are looking to switch to an IC role or if your role is hybrid IC/management, we will consider it on a case-by-case basis.
3
You’re Staff-level or higher. We are trying to create a niche community to maximize value. In order to do that you must be higher than Senior (e.g. Staff, Principal, Director, etc.)
4
You exhibit strong work and sense of craft. We are building the most elite community of Super ICs. Your work must speak for itself.

I’m passionate about career growth and The Super IC design career path.
Most designers feel the need to move into management in order to progress in their career.
This transition creates job dissatisfaction and burnout for designers and lost productivity and lower retention for companies.
I’m on a mission to evangelize the rise of the Super IC. I envision a world where every product designer can grow in their career without needing to switch to management.

As a design generalist, I’m passionate about empowering and supporting designers whose superpower is their creative range. In an industry that often rewards deep specialization, I believe there’s immense value in versatility — in those who can move fluidly between disciplines, connect dots others don’t see, and bring holistic thinking to complex challenges. Through this community, I hope to create space for design generalists to be seen, supported, and celebrated — not in spite of their range, but because of it.
